Information Comics

Helping people understand your story

Say it with pictures

Comics and comic characters have been used to share public information for many years. As comics and comic culture have become increasingly popular and mainstream, so too has the use of comics to share information. From health leaflets and posters through to academic research and service reviews, comics can help people understand complex information and there is an ever increasing amount of research and understanding to suggest that visuals are especially effective at communicating to particular groups.

Your words, our pictures

We have created information comics with a wide range of groups and organisations including the Scottish Parliament, Glasgow Caledonian University, Health and Social Care services, school libraries, adoption and fostering services, care experienced young people and young people on the autism spectrum. We can create comics from existing information, by developing your story with you or by working collaboratively with service users to co-produce comics.

Read a selection of our information comics below.

Scottish Parliament

Working with 8 schools from across Scotland's 8 Parliamentary regions, we created a series of 4 page information comics exploring different aspects of work at the Scottish Parliament.

Researched and written by pupils, the comics explore everything from the purpose of First Minister's Questions and the work of committees through to the biodiversity measures promoted by the parliament and the story of how the building was designed.

The comics are part of the Parliaments learning resource for schools and visitors.
