Earlier this year, we worked with pupils from Notre Dame High School Communications and Language Department to create a comic anthology. Six pupils developed their own stories and characters ranging from unlikely superheroes to the tragic folktale of the Last Great Auk. The completed comic is totally unique.
The project is a great example of how sometimes, it's good not to go with too many fixed ideas about how things should be done, the comic and the stories all evolved in a wonderfully natural way over a series of sessions and in a way which absolutely reflected the individual styles and personalities of the young people involved. It was great example too, of a school choosing to be flexible in how pupils can achieve and attain outcomes.
